But, before we commit the next version of FAP, we want to hear from you. What features do you want? What bugs do you hate? How would you change the layout?
Current Bug list
- Ghost messages (DB bug; fixed in FAP2)
- Can't comment on works (CSS bug; fixed in FAP2)
- Large images scroll off the page (this is actually a feature to prevent the layout from breaking. A more beautiful solution is planned for FAP2)
New Features in FAP2
- Submit stories, flash movies, profile pictures!
- Advanced browse features (date, time, tags!)
- Improved tag filters!
- Privacy upgraded so you can block abusive users from commenting, tagging, annoying!
- Edit/Delete your own comments!
- RSS feeds for your message centre, comments, userpages, EVERYTHING.
- A new layout.
- And, wow...so much more. I can't even remember all the new features...

Cool... keep on rolling... :)
Plenty of work to be done around the edges, too, especially once people get "busier" rather than just enjoying the feeling of newness.
e.g. The "Ettiquette Policy" (sic) is unenforceable if http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt is taken as gospel. A good basis, perhaps, but the world has moved on since 1995 and policy statements such as "Don't point to other sites without asking first" would raise an eyebrow or two nowadays. ;)
Best wishes,
David/u2k ^^
p.s. Password recovery would also be, erm, useful.
A couple more freebies, aside: At present, any guest user can browse some adult material via the "sex" tag, which hasn't been locked-down as a sub-tag of mature; viz. http://www.furryartpile.com/browse/tag/sex
Some of the tags appear to have been broken/malparsed; e.g. http://www.furryartpile.com/view/1192/ with "bondage mature sex dragon redpanda" as a single string and no "mature" blocker, but I'm not 100% on how you're handling those tags behind the scenes anyhow...
Cheers,
d.
Thanks Lapis!
The tag thing has been fixed for FAP2, and password recovery is one of the new features. (Such an "oh duh" feature).
As for the Ettiquette Policy...you're not the only person to note the unenforceability of such statements...so I added some LJ-comment-esque features for FAP2, like the ability to hide/delete/remove comments you don't like from your works, userpage, blogs.
Though, you're totally right: FAP is a bit rough, and the Policy section could stand for some improvement...when I start taking on mods and officers we'll revise those to reflect the community better.
I've always been fond of the idea of 'featured faves', like so I can 'bookmark' a pic I enjoyed, but without bumping one I think deserves some attention off the 'faves' list on my userpage :)
I tell ya what though, I wouldn't mind waiting on that if it would delay the launch of FAP2. I'm antsy to get started, but I don't want to start until I can upload my flash X3
FAP1 currently doesn’t quite work in Konqueror (the browser for KDE, which uses pretty much the same HTML engine, KHTML, as the Apple Safari browser), the thumbnails break into separate rows (browse page, recent+favs on profile pages), or collapse (front page, maybe messages pages too?).
Wow. I hate not being able to reply to comments. Looks like I'm moving this to LJ...
@ ravenworks
Flash and Literary works will be supported in FAP2...and a new feature, called "Quick Pile," will allow you to quickly add works to a list/pile for review later.
@Ralesk
Sorry about the poor Konqueror support. I've made some major changes in how thumbnails are displayed for FAP2 that should work better in Konqueror and Safari.
LJ is good :3 It’s what I did for ljKlient.
And at least we won’t be needing to log in every single time we open this x3 (at least I have to, heh, yay for dynamic IP address :P)
